About Us
Mammoth Lakes Foundation supports higher education and cultural enrichment in the Eastern Sierra. The organization was founded in 1989 by Dave McCoy, founder of Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, and friends. Dave believed that a vibrant community required more for its residents than world-class outdoor recreation alone.
Any graduate of a Mono County high school or 1-year resident of Mono County is eligible for our Dave's Scholar program supporting students pursuing a degree or certificate program at Cerro Coso Community College's Mammoth Lakes campus. Please contact us for more information.
The Mammoth Lakes Foundation owns Edison Hall, home of the Mammoth Ski Museum and Edison Theatre. The Theatre is managed by the Town of Mammoth Lakes under a lease agreement with the Foundation. Together with the Kern Community College District, the Town, and private donors we are working toward building a new auditorium known as the Mammoth Arts & Cultural Center (MACC).
