DESCRIPTION:In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month\, we'll be focusing this "Delve into DEI" discussion on America Ferrera's TED Talk on cultural identity. Ferrera speaks to access in Hollywood and puts forth the notion that "presence creates possibility".  Applying this to Mammoth\, we will discuss identity and access in our community. \n\n\n\nWe encourage those interested in attending to watch the TED Talk in advance of our meet-up and come with your ideas and take aways. Click here to watch. \n\n\n\nBeverages and light refreshments will be served. \n\n\n\nMammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce Diversity\, Equity & Inclusion Statement\n\n\n\nDiversity includes all the ways in which people differ   including psychological\, physical\, and social characteristics   that make one individual or group different from another. Through diverse experiences and personal choice an individual can be tied to various groups.\n\n \n\nEquity is the assurance of fair treatment\, access\, opportunity\, and advancement of all people. The concept of equity is the awareness of systemic causes of disparities and\, more importantly\, the action to eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups. \n\n \n\nBy being inclusive\, a welcoming environment establishes a sense of belonging and feeling valued within a group or structure. Inclusivity is respecting all people's unique perspectives.
