SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting: Mono Arts Council NEW Location
DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to join us in celebrating the Grand Reopening of Mono Arts Council Community Arts Center & Gallery at their new location on Saturday\, August 30th from 5:30pm-7:30pm with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony.\n\n\n\nIn conjunction with the Ribbon Cutting\, there will be the Grand Opening and Reception of two new art exhibits:\n\n\n\n1. Featured Artist Exhibit: The Painted Lady by local Eastern Sierra Artist\, Jenny Kane. Her exhibit features new works with interactive elements. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.\n\n\n\n2. Seasonal Art Exhibit: "Home in the Range of Light". In celebration of the Eastern Sierra local and visiting artists were asked to create works of art to reflect 'home' as a place in our hearts\, our community\, our environment\, our history\, and our stories.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTheir new Community Arts Center & Gallery is located in the Plaza at 501 Old Mammoth Road\, #5. Not only will they be showcasing amazing art from over 60 local and regional artists\, but starting in September\, you will get a chance to get to know some of those artists through their On-Site artist program. A handful of artists will be "on-site" during open hours to assist with sales and\, of course\, share about their art and the art of their colleagues.\n\n\n\nMono Arts Council will still offer all the fun classes through their Art & Wine program\, their After-School Art Club\, and Summer Arts Camps\, as well as N m Social Dance and the Eastern Sierra Strummers. They will be looking to expand those offerings and create a warm and welcoming community space for all to gather and celebrate the arts. \n\n\n\n\n\nTheir background story:\n\nMono Arts Council has been serving the Mammoth Lakes and greater Mono County region for over 30 years. They provide arts education to students from Coleville to Benton and work closely with the Mono County Office of Education\, Mammoth Unified School District and the Eastern Sierra Unified School District to plan for ensuring all students have access to all arts.\n\n\n\nThey opened the gallery over 15 years ago\, originally in the Mammoth Luxury Outlets (now Mammoth Lakes Promenade) to give local artists an opportunity to showcase their work. That gallery has moved and evolved over the years and they are excited for this most recent evolution.
