POSITION TITLE: Service Technician
DEPARTMENT(S): Service Department
REPORTS TO: Service Manager
LOCATION: Bishop, CA
 
DEPARTMENT, TEAM AND/OR POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a territory, ensuring successful completion of field reports for service calls and providing a smooth transition between repairs. As a Service Technician you will perform onsite technical diagnostics, repairs, installations, and customer support.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Service of production copiers/presses and MFP/copiers.
  • Preform repairs and preventative maintenance on units in assigned territory.
  • Daily engagement and ability to provide professional customer services to both internal and external customers.
  • Utilize schematics, manuals and other specifications to determine repair procedures.
  • Perform installs or oversees installation of equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Interpret maintenance, manuals, schematics and wiring diagrams utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
  • Required travel, 50-80%.
 
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES OF ROLE:
  • Service printers and copiers/multi-function machines.
  • Write field reports.
  • Perform inventory audits.
  • Answer repair calls from vendors and clients.
  • Instructs customers on operation of equipment.
  • Consults with other field technicians and engineers to resolve any problems in system operation and maintenance.
  • Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance and suggestions for product improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in multifunctional device service/repair (Preferred)
  • Networking IT skills, such as IP networking and industry IT protocols (SMB, FTP, SNMP, SMTP). (Preferred)
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet insurability requirements set forth in our company auto policy.
 
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma (Required)
  • AA/AS Degree (Preferred)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and maintain alertness for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach in all directions, including overhead and horizontally, to access and retrieve materials or equipment.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read, operate, and monitor equipment and computer systems essential to the position.
  • Manual dexterity to operate telephones, computers, tools, and other equipment simultaneously and efficiently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly.
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time, including under adverse weather or environmental conditions.
  • Physical and mental capacity to perform all essential job functions effectively and safely.
